

Betty Pettit Caregiver Scholarship
Betty was beloved wife and mother, who suffered with Alzheimer’s Disease for over 11 years. Her husband Bob and son Josh were able to keep her at home until her death in July of 2024. Betty was loved by millions around the world after going viral on social media. Her family continued to share her entire journey to bring awareness to the disease and become a resource for caregivers.
To carry on this legacy, the family has started the Betty Pettit Caregiver Scholarship fund. Twice a year they will disburse schoarships to someone caring for someone at home with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.
To apply for this scholarship:
- Must be caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia at home
- Must tell us about your loved one, and your caregiving situation
- Must submit a video of your loved one
- Must request the scholarship amount and tell us how the funds will be used
Scholarships will be up to $500 per caregiver, and can be used for:
- Respite care, to pay a caregiver or a sitter
- Medical devices (chairs, wheelchairs, aids)
- Medications
- Transportation for loved one
